***  BEAVERTON  PROPERTY  TAX  INCREASE for STADIUM ***

Dear Neighbor:  This is to advise you of an impending financial decision that can ultimately increase your property taxes... for the sake of entertainment.

ISSUE:  The Memorandum of Understanding between Peregrine Sports LLC and the City of Beaverton is much more binding than council would let you believe.  It is usually an indication of a "Done Deal"

The City Council and the Mayor can raise your property taxes without your vote.  Based on a recent poll of 355 residents, the mayor and council think the majority of Beaverton residents support increasing their annual property taxes $60-$120/yr*merely to pay for a baseball stadium. DO YOU favor raising your property taxes to pay for the proposed multi-million dollar stadium and its associated costs?  There is no limit to the amount of taxes you might be liable for.

We are already received an increase in Washington County Taxes of 7%.  The Council can still raise the property tax in Beaverton, without a vote, to the legally allowed limit of $4.60 per mil. from $4.01.

Your voice needs to be heard at this City Hall: Will it be? How much of an increase for a  baseball stadium are you willing to pay?  Come and tell the Mayor and City Council. Not all council members are for this boondoggle...come and support THEM.   Will the proponents  listen?
Council Meeting -  When: Monday 11/2/2009:  -  Beaverton City Hall -4755 SW Griffith Drive Time: 6:00 pm for public demonstration of concern **If you care about your city and your taxes, please plan to attend**

Be there or Pay Higher Taxes!!
